Marmapuncture is also known as Ayurvedic Acupuncture and is a relatively unknown practice, even to many complementary practitioners! However Marmapuncture has been around for a while- it stems from the oldest documented medical system in the world…Ayurveda!
Marmapuncture includes Ayurvedic dosha analysis (vata, pitta & kapha) and the marmasthans (energy points that are needled), correlate to different doshic influences as well as connecting to the chakras of the human body.
The chakras deeply influence our health and wellbeing. In fact they are known to be the deepest energy centres of the body. Marmapuncture points are unique locations that can remove stagnation of chakras while also correcting doshic imbalances. Many of these points also correlate to classic acupuncture locations which influence organ meridian pathways.
Considering the powerful combination of being able to influence not just organ metabolism but additionally the dosha and chakra centres as well, makes Marmapuncture a highly effective method of treatment in many chronic as well as acute conditions.
Acupuncture is based on a system of organ meridian pathways and does not consider the influence of dosha nor chakra. One may conclude that Marmapuncture is the bridge that connects classical TCM acupuncture with Ayurvedic medicine!
